Wayfinding

Wayfinding signs can help people feel comfortable finding what they’re looking for without getting lost, and can also help maintain safety, reduce conflict, and promote brand recognition. There are four main types of wayfinding signs, each with a distinct purpose:
Directional
Help people navigate through layouts, pointing towards sections like departments and emergency exits
Informational
Provide details about the environment and its services, such as cafeteria locations and Wi-Fi details
Identification
The most common type of signage, which can include door plaques, signs that tell you what department you are in, and signs that point out a landmark
Regulatory
Inform users of regulations and requirements that are in place, such as speed limits, “No Parking” notices, or reminders to wear proper PPE
